Hi, my name is Geni and for the last 30 years, I have passionately worked as a Horticulturist throughout St. Louis, designing and planting annual flower containers and beds to maximize colors for the season, countless landscapes including: native gardens, butterfly gardens, vegetable gardens, rain gardens, herb gardens, and mixed landscape beds with flowers, shrubs, and trees. In addition, I have a knowledge of pests, disease, and fertilization.
All of this knowledge started with a degree in Horticulture from St Louis Community College and I have a wide-ranging background to back it up. I started my career selling plants at a retail nursery. From there I went to work at the St Louis Zoo, and my main project was installing the vegetation for the original River’s Edge project and maintaining the beautiful Zoo grounds, inside buildings and outside. Following the Zoo, I went to St Albans Country Club to maintain the two 18-hole golf courses and the Clubhouse grounds. Lastly, for the past 18 years I have been the sole horticulturist for the City of Clayton, which included the upkeep of 12 city parks and the recreation center’s landscapes. Many of the passions I listed above were developed and honed over the past 30 years.
